Selma, Lord, Selma

U.S. History students need to bring Selma, Lord, Selma to school on Tuesday. Also, your wiki projects are woefully incomplete. You have less than three weeks left. This is a major grade worth 150 points. This could make or break your grade for this nine weeks.

  2. The purpose of them singing freedom songs was to bring the people together. The songs served a purpose of reminding everyone of the struggle they were going through and had been through. To remind them that there is hope and that God is always with them. These songs were important to the movement, because it kept the people focused on the purpose of the movement ...that things would get better for Black people.
The marchers were initially turned back because the police told them they didn't have a permit to march. The mood in Rachel's apartment was one of concern. Rachel's sister had been involved earlier in a movement for Black rights and they were concerned for Rachel's safety. Many of the adults were concerned for their safety and their children"s safety aswell.

  3. I agree with Heraman because the song was created to bond and bring the people togther. The song would will lift the people and give them courage to keep strong and continue to do what they have to in order to get justice.
