In Chapter 14 Tea Cake decides to move his new family down on the “muck” which is the locals’ nickname for the Florida Everglades, a large swampy area of Florida. Tea Cake and Janie move to the edge of Lake Okechobee. Early in chapter 14, there are a couple of instances of foreshadowing: One when Hurston describes the area where they live as only being separated from the lake by the dyke (dam), and the other when Tea Cake spends countless hours teaching Janie how to shoot a rifle. Both of these will be important to the story later on. Chapters 14 and 15 both give us insight into life on the “muck” as well as introducing us to a number of new “characters”. How would you describe Tea Cake and Janie’s life on the lake? Also, please give me your impressions of Chapter 15, which is the shortest chapter, but quite revealing about the relationship between Janie and Tea Cake. Please make sure you answer all questions and phrase your response in complete sentences.
I think as time progressed Tea Cake and Janie grew close to each other by marriage and partnership. She had finally found what she was looking for and that was the true love from a man that she experienced under the tree with the birds and the bees. When Tea Cake and Janie moved from the "Muck" They where moving form the people and to start over for themselves. They have to adjust to living on the lake, which the did and they grew closer as lover and partners.

DeleteI think as time went by Janie and Tea Cake fell in love with each other and grow closer with each other by marriage. Janie had finally found what she was looking for. She finally found true love and she got to experience that feeling under the pear tree with the birds and the bees. When Tea Cake and Janie were moving to the Muck they were moving from other people and to have a new start for themselves. They had adjust to living on the lake and which they did it brought them even closer together as lovers.

Deletegood explanation.
DeleteIn my opinion, Janie and Tea Cake's relationship grew stronger overtime and she had finally felt loved. she had finally found what her heart desired. In her mind, the type of love she was experiencing was the same feeling she'd felt under the pear tree at 16. As the time went on and they were adjusting on living on the lake, their love became stronger and they grew closer together as love partners.
