Thanksgiving assignments

Psychology classes please remember that your neutron model project is due on December 1st.  If you were not in class when the project was distributed, please go to the class wiki to get a copy of  the project, the rubric (which must be turned in when you submit your project), and look at examples. Economics students, 3.01.and 3.02 of ACCESS are open and will close on November 24th.  Please do your best.  You have not been doing well.

Pop- Up Video problems

Students using Windows live movie player to create your projects: most of you have been saving your projects as a project file and this is incorrect.  Your project will not show. A .wlmp file is a project file not a movie file. Instead of saving the video as a project in Windows Live Movie Maker, save it as a movie (Save movie option).

Friday, October 16

Economics students, you will be taking a re-test on chapter 4 on Monday. You do not need to bring your books to class. Over the weekend please complete the chapter 5 vocabulary.  You can find it on the wiki. Psychology students, your Piagetian tasks project is due Monday.  You will not need your textbooks. Also, please remember to bring a half poster board for class on Wednesday.

Thursday, October 15

Economics students who missed class today will need to see me after school next Tuesday or Thursday to make up the test they missed.  You also need to do chapter 5 vocabulary, which is online on the class wiki.  Psychology students, please be reminded that your Piagetian Tasks project is due Monday.  This is a major grade worth 150 points!  If you missed class today, you need to get handouts 12-3 and 12-6 from the absentee board.

Tuesday, October 13

For the Economics students who did not achieve 60% passing on Unit 1 of ACCESS, I have opened up Unit 4.  For the final time I reiterate: MPS says you MUST complete three units of ACCESS successfully in order to meet the 20 hour online course requirement.  Unit 4 is worth 452 points.  In order to achieve passing you must score 60% of 452.  You need to do your best, as clearly you did not do so on Unit 1, or you would not be in this predicament.  I will not be grading Unit 4 anytime soon.  That does not mean you should wait to do it.  That means that you will not know until I grade it whether or not you will be graduating.  This is YOUR FAULT and YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.  It could have been avoided by taking ACCESS seriously when you were assigned Unit 1.

Psychology students please remember that you have a test tomorrow on tomorrow on Infancy and Childhood. Economics students who have not completed ACCESS Unit 1 by now need to be aware that they will NOT be graduating in May.

Tuesday, October 6

Economics students: I have re-opened the ACCESS Unit 1 test.  It will close tomorrow at 8pm. It will NOT re-open. Please bring your notebooks tomorrow.  We will be organizing them for your notebook test on Friday. Psychology students have a test on Thursday on Infancy and Childhood. This module covers three sets of notes that are on the class wiki.  If you missed class today you need to make sure you get handout 11-6 from the absentee board.

ACCESS

Economics students I have had a chance to go through ACCESS and it is evident to see that most of you have decided you are not going to do it, and therefore not graduate next May.  This is not a choice.  If you don't complete Unit 1 by Monday it will be too late.  Unit 1 is going on your first nine weeks report card.  If you don't do it you WON'T graduate. Once your first nine weeks grades are in THEY ARE IN. They CANNOT be changed!  Do not shirk your responsibility with ACCESS. No amount of begging or promising will help you graduate if you don't get it done.

Wednesday, September 23

Economics students-- for those who missed class on Tuesday you need to get guided reading 3-3 from the absentee bulletin board.  You also need to turn in your bellringers.  Today we did a categorizing activity which can also be located on the absentee bulletin board.  We started a new set of bellringers and did a primary source newspaper reading.  Your test on chapter 3 is TOMORROW. Some of you still have not paid your Stock Market Game fee.  This means you have a "zero" major grade. ACCESS sections 1.02 and 1.03 need to be completed by Monday.  Psychology students your test will be Friday.  There are two sets of notes on this test-- one on Nature vs. Nurture.  The other is on Culture and Gender.  Both of these are on the class wiki.  If you have not been assigned to a group for the project on culture and gender you need to see me. We will go to the library on Monday to continue working on the project.

Friday, September 18

Economics students-- took a quiz today and did a notebook assignment on corporations.  You will need to get the assignment off of the absentee board.  See me before school any day or after school Tuesday or Thursday to make up your quiz. Don't forget to monitor your five chosen stocks for the next five days.  Also all Stock Market game fees are due Monday!  You ACCESS unit 1.01 assignments are due tomorrow!  Psychology students-- took notes on "The Psychology of Culture and Gender." Thursday, September 17

Psychology students you have a quiz to take on Edmodo. It's due tomorrow.  It is based on the articles you were to read online about North Korea. Also your composition book assignment is due tomorrow.  I will NOT accept this on Monday for ANY reason. Economics students make sure you are tracking your five stocks over the next week.  Those who missed the quiz on Business Organizations need to see me after school.

Tuesday, September 15

Students who missed their test Friday or Monday can make it up before or after school on Thursday. Psychology students:  if you missed class today, you need to get a Module 20 concept web off of the absentee board.  This correlates to Module 3 in your textbook.  You should also be recording your horoscope daily in your composition book along with the ratings and explanations.  This is due Friday. Economics students took notes entitled Business Organizations.  These can be found on the class wiki.  We did a bellringer.  Please get this from another student. We also did a mastery worksheet on sole proprietorships and a vocabulary activity.  You can get these from the absentee bulletin board. Don't forget to bring your $5 for participation in the Alabama Stock Market Game by next Monday.

Friday, September 11

Today Economics students did a bellringer entitled "National Economic Goals."  We also did a biographical reading on Karl Marx and a mastery worksheet.  The reading and worksheet can be found on the absentee bulletin board.  Your test on Chapter 2 is Monday.  Even if you were not present today you will be expected to take the test, because you have had a week's notice that it was coming. Psychology classes took a test today on Module 2.  If you missed the test you will need to stay after school Tuesday or Thursday to make it up.

Thursday, September 10

Psychology students took notes entitled "Research Strategies, part 3".  These notes are online on the class wiki. Students also have an assignment to complete using their composition books.  For the next seven days you are to record your horoscope in your composition book.  Under the horoscope, please write about whether or not the event happened. On the next day rank each horoscope from 1-5 to describe how accurate it was, with "1" being did not come true at all, to "5" being all of it came true. Make sure you date each entry. You will have a test tomorrow on Module 2 "Research Strategies". Economics students took notes entitled "Goals of the U. S. Economy".  These notes can be found on the class wiki. We also did guided reading 2-2 and a math activity.  Both of these assignments are on the absentee bulletin board.  Due to picture day activities yesterday, your test on "Economic Systems" has been moved to Monday.

Friday, September 4

If you missed Psychology class today you missed a lot of fun! We did a sampling activity involving M & Ms.  No repeats-- SORRY.  All students should have turned in their Research Strategies worksheet.  Your next test will be next Friday. Economics students did a primary source reading on the "Wealth of Nations" and Chapter 2, section 3 guided reading.  These are on the absentee bulletin board.  Please come and get them on Wednesday WHETHER or NOT you come to class. We also did a bellringer.  Make sure you see a classmate to get it. Currently your next test is planned for next Friday.  We will have to see how Wednesday proceeds, however. ACCESS will be up next week according to an email I received from downtown.  Don't forget there is no school on Tuesday.  Wednesday is picture day.

Thursday, September 3

Economics students who were absent today missed a writing assignment. I have attached a link to the assignment on Edmodo.  Turn it in when you come to class tomorrow.  Psychology students took notes on "Research Strategies part 2" which can be found on the class wiki.  We also did a worksheet on Research Strategies.  This is on the absentee bulletin board.

Wednesday, September 2

Today Economics classes took a quiz on Monday's notes.  I will be here after school tomorrow for those students who need to make up the quiz. I will also be available before school tomorrow and Friday for makeup. We also took notes entitled "Characteristics of a Market Economy". These notes are on the class wiki.

Tuesday, September 1

Economics students today did bellringer #5 and turned in their bellringers. If you were absent you will need to turn in your bellringers when you get to class tomorrow. We also did a vocabulary activity and a biographical reading on Adam Smith. The papers can be found on the absentee bulletin board. Economics classes will have a quiz at some point this week on the first set of chapter notes and the chart we copied in class.  Psychology students did a case study reading and watched a documentary on Genie, or the Wild Child.  This documentary is online on youtube.  Please remember to bring your composition books to class.  We will be using them this chapter.

Monday, August 31

Psychology students-- if you missed class today you will need to get the notes entitled "Research Strategies" from the class wiki.  Also, please get the Fact or Falsehood sheet off the absentee board.  I distributed a homework assignment which can also be found on the absentee board. Please remember to bring your composition book to class this week.  We will be using them. Economics students today did notes entitled "Types of Economic Systems".  These are found on the class wiki.

Tuesday, August 25

Psychology classes-- Your test has been moved to Thursday.  If you missed class today, you need to get the notes entitled "Modern Psychology's Roots".  These are located on the class wiki.  We also did Handouts 1-3 and 1-4 and turned them in.  These can be found on the absentee bulletin board. Economics classes-- your test will proceed tomorrow as scheduled.  If you missed class today you will need to get the assignment "Looking At Alternatives" from the absentee bulletin board.

Chapter 1 Test

ALL students will have a test on chapter 1 on Wednesday. Even if you are absent on Tuesday, you will be expected to take the test on Wednesday. If you are missing any worksheets you need to make sure that you get them from the absentee bulletin board.

August 21

Psychology students-- please remember that your Outrageous Celebrity project is due Monday.  If you need a refresher on the six perspectives of psychology, they can be found on the class wiki.  If you missed class today, you need to take the notes entitled "Modern Psychology's Roots" on the class wiki.  We also did a graphic organizer in class. That can be found on the absentee bulletin board. Government students-- If you missed class you need to take the notes entitled "Trade Offs and Opportunity Costs" located on the class wiki. We did a primary source study, which you are welcome to get if you desire, but you will not be responsible for. We also did an assignment, "Understanding Graphs".  You will need to get this off of the absentee bulletin board.

Section 1 quiz

Students who were unable to take the quiz on Edmodo will need to see me either before school tomorrow or after school today or tomorrow to take it on paper.

Tuesday, August 18

Economics classes took the lecture notes entitled "What is Economics?"  These can be found on the class wiki.  We also did chapter 1 vocabulary, which is also on the wiki.  Your quiz for section 1 is loaded onto Edmodo.  You must take it by Thursday.  You only have ten minutes to complete it once you start.  Psychology classes did the puzzle pieces activity and took notes entitled "Intro to Psychology". There is a link to these notes on the class wiki.

Immigration Newspaper articles

Economics students need to print off two articles on illegal immigration by Wednesday and bring them to class.  One article should support the position that illegal immigration is harmful to the economy.  The other article should support the position that illegal immigration is not harmful to the economy.  From each article students must generate a list of reasons that supports that articles' point of view.
